SMH Tyres Ltd was founded by Shaun Hodson who originally ran a small independent tyre company. Three years ago he decided to branch out into haulage and purchased a second hand Scania which was coincidently an ex Maritime truck and things took off from there.

"I had a look around your stand at Peterborough Truckfest about two years ago and was very impressed with what I saw" explains Shaun.

"This year I made a beeline to the Secondhand Trucks stand and had a brief conversation with Matt where we discussed my requirements. A week later I spoke to Matt again on the telephone and he was more than helpful as he had been throughout the whole purchasing process.

Phillips Haulage

Phillips Haulage was founded by Josh Phillips in 2013 which is when he got his first two trucks. Starting off doing container haulage, the company then expanded into tilt trailers and today do a mixture of the two.

Chris Bowen specialist transport was founded in 1999.  With a high quality and versatile fleet they specialise in abnormal loads ensuring all their customers are represented in a professional way.

I discussed what truck and extras I required over the phone. Half an hour later Matt came back with the finished price.

S L Wood Transport

Starting in 2007 to focus mainly on accompanied continental traction, SL Wood Transport changed tactics in 2013 to concentrate on the UK to Ireland unaccompanied market which they still do today.

“My first truck, which was also a Daf that I bought from Matt, gave excellent service and travelled all over Europe doing high mileage without a single mechanical issue for the 4 years that we had it explains Simon.

We are now onto truck number 5 and having had a good look at what was out there in the nearly new second hand market, I found myself back again at secondhandtrucks to purchase a Euro 6 Daf.

Paul Cordiner Ltd

Owning and operating his own truck has always been a dream for Paul Cordiner and in March 2018 this dream became a reality opting to buy a Daf XF from us as well as become a dedicated sub contractor to Maritime Transport.

Having purchased their first truck from Secondhandtrucks in March 2018 Arthur Brothers have since returned for additions to their fleet in April and again in June.

CM Transport

Started in 2004 CM Transport today runs a fleet of 35 trucks and 50 trailers on distribution work for some blue chip supermarket chains.

"We were looking at increasing the fleet and so gave Matt a call to see what he could offer us explains MD, Liam Browne. We agreed on 2 x Scania Topline's including delivery to the UK port for onward shipment to Ireland.

Everything Matt said he would do was done with no issues and the trucks were received in showroom condition. We will have no problem dealing with Matt and his team in the future and when we're next in the market for some further trucks, Matt will be our first call".         

Lynx Transport Ltd

Working as an employed driver of Maritime Transport is enough for many however, for some, owning their own truck is the only option and this is exactly the case for ex Maritime driver, Marios Savvidis.

"I had been driving for Maritime for some time and have a really good relationship with my operators in Southampton but for me, owning my own truck was something I had to do explains Marios.

Having driven the trucks I already knew the quality of what Maritime could offer me was perfect in terms of age, mileage and specification. The fact I could also put my trucks back in to the Maritime fleet as a dedicated sub-contractor with both guaranteed work and earnings was the icing on the cake.

William Walker Transport

Based in Aberdeenshire and founded in 1949, William Walker Transport is still a family run business.

"We run a fleet of Daf and Volvo units on both local and long distance work explains Director, Grant Walker. We were looking to add to the fleet and gave Matt a call to see what he could offer us.

This is our first time of using Secondhandtrucks and we have to say the service has been first class in every aspect from start to finish. The quality of the truck is very good and I've already been back on to Matt asking him to quote on further trucks.

We had one small issue develop on the first truck and this was dealt with very swiftly and without question, we will definitely be recommending them to others and are very happy".        

CJ Haynes & Son Ltd

Trading since 1974 and into it's 4th Generation, family run CJ Haynes & Son Ltd decided to add another Scania to their general haulage fleet.

"We decided to return to Secondhandtrucks as we've been so pleased with the first Scania we purchased from them 2 years ago explains Wendy Haynes. The service is great and it certainly gives us the confidence in the product.
