Giles Haulage

Family-run company, Giles Haulage, has origins dating back to 1962, providing a sheet and rope transport service. Today, Richard Giles holds the reins, and the company has moved on to provide predominantly container transport services from their depot in Great Blakenham, Suffolk. Looking to replace two older units with something more reliable, Richard approached Secondhandtrucks to purchase two Scania Toplines.

We try to keep our fleet as modern as we can, so I went to the market to replace a couple of older units. We've always preferred second hand, but only go for the good quality units to avoid downtime, which is why we chose Secondhandtrucks and their Scania's.

Buying the vehicles was quick and simple. Matt emailed me pictures of the units for sale, which looked top quality, and having offered us a great deal on two 2010 plate Toplines I placed the order without even viewing them, knowing that they offered a great aftersales warranty service. It was all a bit of a no brainer for us. It wasn't long before Matt had delivered both units to our yard, complete with 12 months MOT, ready to hit the road.

I'm chuffed with the vehicles, they are the perfect tools for pulling containers and provide the reliability that's so important to the company. Every Friday when I lock up the yard, I'm always impressed with the quality of the two
