Abrahams Transport

Abrahams Transport is a fresh starter in the container haulage industry, operating out of Southampton as a sub-contractor for Maritime Transport. The company is owned by Kevin Abrahams and his wife. It had been Kevin’s boyhood dream to run his own truck with his name on the front and Maritime’s ‘Buy with Work’ scheme allowed Kevin to make this a reality. Kevin purchased a personalised Volvo Globetrotter from Secondhandtrucks, complete with sub-contractor work at Maritime.

“I’m a Volvo man and was looking for a relatively new truck to start my business, but I needed work to go alongside it as I’m new to container haulage. I’d been in contact with Tom Cole after following Maritime for a while and decided that now was the right time to begin living my dream. Tom told me that I could buy a truck with work from Secondhandtrucks and put me in contact with Matt Heath. We had a chat and a look around a 10 plate Volvo, which had low mileage. I was so happy that I decided not to take the truck on a test drive and phoned my Mrs there and then, told her it was perfect and that was that, I did the deal with Matt over a cup of tea.

When I picked up the truck it was clean and tidy, nothing was out of place and it felt like a new motor. I had the truck customised with livery that included my name, contact details and a name for the truck, it looks beautiful and I’m very happy with it. I had a couple of very minor issues and Matt was incredibly helpful, sorted the warranty and had everything sorted without a problem. I may be looking to get a second further down the line and I’ll definitely be looking to Matt as my first call. If no Volvo’s are available, I’ll be more than happy to wait for the next batch, they’re that good. I’ve been complimented on my truck and recommended the company, something I would do again. Matt and young Lee were helpful and the service was excellent.”
