Having started out as an owner driver in 1995, Stuart Calluns now operates ten vehicles and a warehouse from his base in
Hamilton, Scotland. Providing general haulage services throughout the UK with his fleet of 44 tonne Scania artics, Stuart
was looking to break the mould and bring a Maritime DAF into his fleet, as a special request.
We've got a fleet predominantly made up of R Series Scania's, one of which is an ex-Maritime R480. One of my drivers
is particularly keen on DAFs and requested that his next vehicle upgrade could be an XF. When the time came to change
the Scania, we decided to choose ex-Maritime again, considering how well the first one worked out for us. Secondhandtrucks'
vehicles have a great reputation for quality; you know their full vehicle history and that they've been professionally
maintained by a reputable company, which helped to make our decision easier. When it came to our order, we chose a two
year old 460bhp XF105, purchased via a telephone conversation with Matt Heath, 400 miles away in Tilbury.
Considering the distance between us and Secondhandtrucks' office, the purchase process was exceptionally simple and smooth.
The first time I saw the truck was when it was delivered to our depot in Hamilton and I am delighted with it. It is a
very well kitted out truck, just what my driver was hoping for and was presented in a spotlessly clean fashion. Matt
gave us exactly what he said he would, we couldn't have asked for more.
